Everything you need to know about how Beag Childcare works for families and childminders.
For parents
What is Beag Childcare?
Beag Childcare is a network of self-employed childminders who care for children in their own homes. We connect families who need childcare with childminders in their area.
How do I find a childminder?
Fill in the parent request form. We will send you the contact details of several childminders near you who can meet your needs, so you can get in touch, visit and choose.
Which areas do you cover?
We work nationwide, with families and childminders in every county in Ireland.
What ages and hours do your childminders cover?
Our childminders care for children from babies to school age, and offer a mix of full-time, part-time, before and after school and occasional care. Tell us what you need and we will look for the best fit.
How does payment work?
Once care begins, you pay your childcare fees to Beag each month. We then pay your childminder, so you have one simple monthly payment.
Do I have to choose one of the childminders you suggest?
No. You are free to meet the childminders and decide whether any of them are right for your family.
For childminders
Who can join the network?
Childminders who care for children in their own homes anywhere in Ireland. Apply using the form and we will be in touch for a chat.
Do I stay self-employed?
Yes. You remain self-employed and decide your own hours, the ages you care for and the number of places you offer.
How do I get paid?
Beag collects fees from the parents of the children you mind and pays you every month, after deducting our service fee.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying to join the network is free.
